Hi all,

I don't own a pressure cooker yet. I want to ask TC or anybody who has pressure cooked chicken in oil at 15 psi if the results were good? Also, I have seen the traditional clamp style pressure cookers and those things are built like tanks!

I have seen some twist-off lid style models and some don't seem to be as thick as the traditional clamp style.

I just want to make a good purchase and get great results. TC how do you like the Fagor? Has it been reliable compared to a clamp style...is it just as safe?

The clamp style cookers only go up to 8 or 9 psi. I would imagine then tat the cooking time for the chicken is not 8 minutes?

Any help would be good

Thanks!

It's been a long time since this question was asked, so I thought I'd just collate some info together as the question title, at least is fair and valid.

Been doing a review of the youtube vids of available, modern, pressure cookers, as well as reviews etc. I've found a couple of extras worth considering to add to the above list.

One is

Pressure Cookers. What I DO like about the Fissler range is the sloping sides which is an excellent safety feature -as hot oil rises, the pot diameter increases thus helping to reduce the chance of hot fat boil overs etc.

Another one is the

pressure cooker system, single handed, nice.

Then there is the

Pressure Cooker.

Also, of interest is the

. The lid slips inside the cook pot. Interesting Concept.

Of all these, I still like my Chinese Tianxi (Bergner/BRA/Fagor/Yoke-style lookalike) but if pushed for a new purchase, which I'm being forced to contemplate, I am pretty inclined towards the Fissler slope sided range, with the Tefal Clipso coming a close second, followed even more closely behind by the WMF.

I would be happy to know what are the favorites pressure cookers used by the members.

I'm interested only in a 15 psi capable model, and I want something like 10qt or more so I can do a lot of chicken in once for family meals.

I'm looking at this right now :

Is this still a recommended model, would you advise any other brand instead ?

I would be very interested and thankful if someone could chime in with some guidance Smile
